It seemed like a foregone conclusion, but now it’s official: Garrett Crochet He’s an All Star. Although Crochet’s All-Star nod was widely expected, his White socks Teammates cheered him on when the news was announced on Sunday.

After being goaded into a speech by his teammates, Crochet began by thanking the defense behind him and catchers Martin Maldonado and Korey Lee for closing out games behind the plate.
“Seriously, I wouldn’t be here without you,” Crochet said in the video. “You know, with the relationships we’ve formed this year, it’s easy to go out there and play once a week.”
Crochet flourished in his first season as a starter this year. Heading into Sunday’s action, Crochet led all pitchers in baseball with 19 starts and 146 strikeouts. Additionally, he has a 3.08 ERA, 0.968 WHIP and has walked just 23 batters.
His performance is even more impressive when you consider that his 105.1 innings this year surpasses the total number of innings he has pitched in his professional career through 2024. Between the 2020, 2021 and 2023 seasons (Crochet missed 2022 while recovering from Tommy John surgery), Crochet pitched just 73 innings combined.
Crochet’s All-Star nod isn’t his only national recognition this year. He won AL Pitcher of the Month in June, when he posted a 1.91 ERA with 56 strikeouts in 37.2 innings of work.
Crochet is the first White Sox starting pitcher to earn a spot on the All-Star roster since Lance Lynn did so in 2021.
