Here is the latest news and updates about the Mets‘main potential customers…

RHP Christian Scott, MLB

Scott was a little shaky again in his second big league start, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk over 4.1 no-decision innings against the Rockies.

After Colorado walked off the field twice in this one, the young man has already allowed 17 home runs in as many games this season in the majors and minors.

Scott is still searching for his first career win and has posted a 4.36 ERA and 1.11 WHIP while striking out 35 batters in his first eight starts.

INF Luisangel Acuña, Syracuse Triple A

Acuna has cooled off a bit after ending June on a high note, but the speedy top prospect has made an extremely strong case for a potential big league call-up.

He is hitting .264 with a triple, two home runs, four doubles, 10 stolen bases, 15 RBI and a .316 on-base percentage since the beginning of June.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters last weekend that he has received nothing but positive reviews about the 22-year-old from the Syracuse coaching staff.

RHP Brandon SproatDouble-A Binghamton

Sproat was rewarded for his ridiculous start to the season by earning a place in the Futures Game and responded by putting together some strong goalless work.

The youngster told reporters afterward that he would be open to being thrown out of the Mets’ bullpen if that was what it took for him to make his big league debut this year.

Sproat has certainly made that case, pitching a stellar 1.71 ERA and 0.95 WHIP with 85 strikeouts in 14 appearances between High-A and Double-A.

RHP Blade Tidwell, Triple-A Syracuse

The Mets’ top pitching prospect has hit a bit of a bump since being called up to Triple-A and that continued in his start Saturday against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Tidwell failed to make it past the fifth inning for the fifth time in his last six starts and allowed three runs on three hits while walking three and striking out three.

In seven appearances at Triple-A, Tidwell now has an approximate ERA of 5.35 and a WHIP of 1.52.

RHP Mike Vasil, Triple-A Syracuse

Vasil had a bit of a difficult start to the season but finally started to figure things out, recording his fourth consecutive quality start on Friday night.

Facing Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, he earned the victory after allowing just two runs on six hits while striking out five and not issuing a walk in six strong innings of work.

Vasil still has a 5.94 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP on the year, but has done a good job building his trade value in his recent outings.

IN Ryan CliffordDouble-A Binghamton

Somehow, Clifford got even better after his excellent run during the month of June.

The sizzling lefty has now reached base safely in all but one game this month, including a two homer and six RBI showing on Wednesday night against the Fisher Cats.

Clifford’s numbers continue to rise as he is now hitting .238 with 12 home runs, 13 doubles, 33 RBI, a .380 on-base percentage and a .924 OPS since being promoted to Binghamton.

RHP Jonah Tong, High-A Brooklyn

After a rough start following his promotion, Tong quickly settled into a good rhythm and has been dominant lately with the Brooklyn Cyclones.

The right-hander was spectacular during his outing this week against the Wilmington Blue Rocks, as he suffered a tough loss of luck after allowing just one run on three hits and striking out seven in six innings.

Tong has now achieved a stellar 0.82 ERA after allowing just two earned runs and striking out 32 in his last four starts.
