Two teams ‘think they have some interest’ in Tommy Pham: Report originally appeared in NBC Sports Chicago

With the MLB trade deadline approaching, the stove is starting to heat up with rumors swirling around the league.

O White socks They are believed to be preparing for a potential major sell-off on July 30th. And one of the players they signed during the season, Tommy Pham, is reportedly gaining interest on the trade market.

“The Phillies and Royals are believed to have some interest in Pham as they look for an outfielder, while the Mariners and Pirates are also looking for bats,” The NY Post’s Jon Heyman reported on Tuesday.

The White Sox signed Pham, 36, on April 16, just a few weeks into the season. They signed the outfielder to a one-year, $3.5 million contract with $1.5 million in incentives. In fact, it is to Pham’s benefit that he is traded, as he would receive a $500,000 draft bonus if he were traded.

Pham has been a spark for a White Sox team that boasts the league’s worst record and a 70-loss record heading into the All-Star break. Pham is batting .264 this season with a .706 OPS. He hit four home runs and drove in 16 runs, scoring 31 of his own.

He has been a strong plug-and-play outfielder, having played every outfield position this season. He’s also at the top of the batting order, flexing his ability to get on base and create runs on the base path.

Pham isn’t the only White Sox player potentially on the trading block this season. Heyman reports that both Garrett Crochet and Luis Robert Jr. “have a good chance of being traded.” And they are “even more likely” to trade Erick Fedde, who has three interested suitorsaccording to a recent report from The Athletic.

Heyman also reports that the White Sox must find new homes for Paul DeJong and Michael Kopech.
