Now is a good opportunity to include the Phillies in this conversation, because what they need is Steve Pierce.

OK. And 2018, Dave Dombrowski replaces Steve Pearce when he manages the Red Sox and that guy wins the World Series.

Now obviously this isn’t that simple, but they need someone who they can platoon Brandon Marsh with in the outfield because when they play the Braves inevitably in the w in the playoffs and the Braves were throwing Max Fried and Chris Ale out .

Brandon Marsh is a guy who hasn’t played a lefty in a few months.

Right.

I also think the Phillies should go out and get another reliever just to supplement the bullpen.

I think as far as starting to launch, they’ll probably stick with what they have at home.

Let’s quickly talk about the Nationals and the Marlins.

Both teams should sell NATS, they will definitely sell weaker.

Dylan Floro is gone.

They will try to trade Trevor Williams.

The main question is: do they try to negotiate with the guys with several years of control?

The Marlins will try to negotiate whatever they can.

That will be Josh Bell.

That will be Tanner Scott, who is probably the best reliever available.

He is an imminent free agent.

He’ll bring back one or two real prospects.

And so Jazz is a very interesting conversation just because teams think they can put him at second base in the infield?

Probably.

But it’s like that guy hasn’t played infield since 2021.

That would be less of my concern with jazz.

Really?

It’s more, do you know what you’re getting offensively?

And did you know that your team wants to live with the jazz schism for the next year and a half?

Right?

Will Miami at this point, will Peter Bendix at this point accept a big offer tomorrow or will he take it to the deadline?

Everyone knows he will deal with multiple players.

And so is he willing to see this through now or will he accept the first big offer he gets for Scott from the Jazz?
