Mets finalizing deal for outfielder Jesse Winker

O Mets are negotiating for the Washington Nationals outfielder Jesse Winkeralthough the deal is not yet finalized as medical exams are still being reviewed, SNY Insider’s Andy Martino reports.

Winker is slashing .257/.354/.419 with 11 home runs and 45 RBI in 101 games for the Nats. The outfielder also has 14 stolen bases and has been caught just four times. His .793 OPS is his best since 2021 (.950) while playing for the Cincinnati Reds.

The 30-year-old spent the 2024 season in Washington after spending five seasons with the Reds and played for the Seattle Mariners for a year before landing in Milwaukee to play for the Brewers in 2023.
