The second of the UFC’s four August events took place on Saturday with UFC on ESPN 61 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, and while it wasn’t a memorable showcase of the promotion’s talent, the headliner produced a significant result.
[autotag]Serghei Spivac[/autotag] (17-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) avenged his 2020 decision loss to [autotag]Marcin Tybura[/autotag] (25-9 MMA, 12-8 UFC) with a first-round submission victory, marking just one of the lineup’s three stoppage results.

Spivac has won 15 of his 17 career victories by stoppage. He finished 11 of those wins in the first round.
Spivac achieved his first armbar submission in UFC heavyweight competition since June 2020.
Tybura suffered the first submission loss of his career.
Chepe Mariscal defeated. Damon Jackson
[autotag]Chepe Mariscal[/autotag] (17-6 MMA, 4-0 UFC) has won three of his four UFC victories by decision.
[autotag]Damon Jackson[/autotag] (23-7-1 MMA, 6-5-1 UFC) dropped to 6-4 since returning to the UFC for a second stint in September 2020.
Chris Gutierrez defeated. Quang Le
[autotag]Chris Gutierrez[/autotag] (21-6-2 MMA, 9-3-1 UFC) improved to 7-3-1 in UFC bantamweight competition.
Gutierrez has won six of his nine UFC victories by decision.
[autotag]Quang Le[/autotag] (8-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) had his eight-fight winning streak interrupted by the first loss of his career.
Yana Santos defeated. Chelsea Chandler
[autotag]Yana Santos[/autotag] (15-8 MMA, 5-5 UFC) snapped a three-fight losing skid for his first win since February 2021.
Santos improved to 5-3 since returning to the UFC women’s bantamweight division in October 2018. Santos has won all five of her UFC victories via decision
[autotag]Chelsea Chandler[/autotag] (6-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC) suffered all three of his career losses by decision.
Toshiomi Kazama defeated. Charalampos Grigoriou
[autotag]Toshiomi Kazama[/autotag] (10-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) has won nine of his 11 career victories by stoppage.
[autotag]Charalampos Grigoriou[/autotag] (8-5 MMA, 0-2 UFC) suffered the first submission loss of his career.
Karol Rosa defeated. Pannie Kianzad

Rosa has won all seven of his UFC victories by decision.
Jhonata Diniz won. Carlos Williams

[autotag]Carlos Williams[/autotag] (10-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) suffered the first decision loss of his career.
Youssef Zalal defeated. Jarno Errens
[autotag]Youssef Zalal[/autotag] (15-5-1 MMA, 5-3-1 UFC) improved to 2-0 since returning to the UFC for a second stint in March 2024. Zalal has won 12 of his 15 career wins by stoppage.
[autotag]Jarno Errens[/autotag] (14-6-1 MMA, 1-3 UFC) has suffered both submission losses in his career.
Stéphanie Luciano won. Talita Alencar
[autotag]Stephanie Luciano[/autotag] (6-1-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has won four of his six career victories by decision.
[autotag]Talita Alencar[/autotag] (5-1-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) had his six-fight unbeaten streak interrupted in the first loss of his career.
