MMA star Kafele Mensah lost his fight against Josh Spatz via TKO after vomiting mid-fight.

The American participated in an amateur light heavyweight preliminary fight in Nebraska on Friday.

Kafele Mensah lost the fight after vomiting in the octagon

Mensah even came out on top in the opening exchanges before unexpectedly falling ill.

The fighter seemed dazed after leaving the clinch with Spatz and was unable to avoid vomiting in the Octagon.

A blue substance shot from his mouth onto the canvas and the referee immediately stopped the fight.

Spatz scored the victory via technical knockout – the first of his MMA career.

One commenter reacted by saying, “Never saw that happen.”

Fans were also surprised by the incident as some showed sympathy for Mensah.

One reacted by saying: “Poor guy!”
