Karine Silva x Ariane da Silva, expert’s choice, prediction
Results of the last event: 4-1
Overall picks for 2024 UFC main cards: 28-29-2
Filling out the main card is the women’s flyweight fight between Silva and Lula.
Silva, who has been on a roll since leaving Dana White’s Contender Series, is showing great promise and potential at 125 pounds. That said, I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss Lula in this position.
Not only is Lula (formerly Lipski) the UFC’s most experienced product, but “The Queen” (formerly “The Queen of Violence”) has really come into her own since changing her training situation in the United States.
Even though a Lula decision wouldn’t surprise me, I was also very impressed with Silva’s diverse game and can see why the hype is so high.
Submissions may be how Silva has made his money in the Octagon so far, but I see his left hook and leg kicks being particularly effective against Silva on the feet.
The choice is Silva by knockout in the first round.
Karine Silva x Ariane da Silva odds
Despite oddsmakers opening the former KSW champion as the favorite, public money poured into the Contender Series graduate, listing Silva (-158) and da Silva (+128) via FanDuel.
