McGregor, 35, will be welcomed back into action by fellow fan favorite Michael Chandler – his rival trainer on season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter.

The Notorious is gearing up for his long-awaited return at SBG Ireland in Dublin.

But your training regimen NO included his traditional road work on his bike, which he relied heavily on in preparation for his 2016 rematch with Nate Diaz.

It is because the Irish are still hesitant about cycling on the road after being TURNED OFF the bike by a driver who was dazzled by the sun last January.

He revealed his cautions in his Instagram story, which included a video of the aftermath of the incident, writing: “I still haven’t ridden my bike again after that.”

McGregor experienced a marked increase in cardiovascular endurance after implementing bike work into his training regimen for his second showdown with Diaz.

And he prefers to do cardio on the bike instead of pounding his joints with grueling runs.

The UFC’s first simultaneous two-weight champion said: “We do a specific heart rate at a specific power.

“Then I do the sprints on the treadmill and the rowing machine. And then I do my endurance on the bike.”

McGregor’s fight against Chandler in June will be his first Octagon appearance since breaking his left leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier almost three years ago.

The Dubliner hasn’t tasted victory in almost FOUR AND A HALF years, but plans to return to the win column in emphatic fashion.

In a recent interview with James Corden, the Irishman said: “I’m the Terminator now.

“I have a titanium rod that goes up to my knee and down to the bone, down to my ankle.

“It’s unbreakable.

“I want and I will work to land that kick with that steel bar on the leg against an opponent and get him out of there.”
