“The Korean Super Boy” is back.

For only the second time since 2019 (unless further postponement), Doo Ho Choi (14-4-1 MMA, 3-3-1 UFC) will enter the cage on July 20th at the UFC Fight Night event opposite Bill Algeo (18-8 MMA, 5-4 UFC). The three-round featherweight fight will take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie about the booking, but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has not yet been made official.

Choi, 33, most recently competed in February 2023, when he tied with Kyle Nelson. The draw resulted in a three-game losing skid that included defeats to Charles Jourdain and Jeremy Stephens, as well as a UFC Hall of Fame fight against Cub Swanson.

Algeo, 34, is also coming off the fight against Nelson. However, his defeat was in March. Nelson defeated Algeo by technical knockout four minutes into the first round. The strike was considered controversial by some.

With the addition, the July 20 UFC Fight Night event includes:

  • Kurt Holobaugh x Kaynan Kruschewsky

  • Trey Ogden vs. Loik Radzhabov

  • Hyder Amil x Jeong Yeong Lee

  • Bill Algeo x Doo Ho Choi
