UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones continues to shoot Tom Aspinall.
Interim heavyweight champion Aspinall (14-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC) will pick things back up with Curtis Blaydes (18-4 MMA, 13-4 UFC) in the main event of UFC 304 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) on July 27 in Manchester, England.
Blaydes won their first meeting in July 2022 by technical knockout after Aspinall blew out his knee just 15 seconds into the fight. Jones sees Blaydes raising his hand again.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Curtis won, I’ve seen scenarios like this countless times. Dude prematurely drinking his own Kool-Aid ends up with a huge piece of humble pie. I mean, if Sergei can play Tom so easily, I’m sure Curtis can too. When Curtis decides to go, he is much faster than people imagine and hits hard. A few timely shots and that strong game, it could be a long night for ol’ Tommy. Either way, I’ll be watching, excited to get some additional footage.”

When asked if he was showing prejudice towards Blaydes, Jones had no problem admitting what.
“Of course, to be perfectly honest, I always root for the Americans… especially the American fighters… at the end of the day, no matter who wins, Curtis isn’t a problem either. The only track I know, the fastest. I don’t know any other speed. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t at the big boys’ table.”
