Adriano Yanez re-entered the win column with a bang – or a series of them – in UFC 241 Fight Night on Saturday.

In a bantamweight fight on the main card, Yanez (17-5 MMA, 6-2 UFC) submitted his opponent Vinícius Salvador (14-7 MMA, 0-3 UFC with punches via stoppage at 2:47 of the first round.

A strong right counter from Yanez marked the beginning of the end for Salvador at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Although Salvador did his best to try and survive, he was unable to do so. Salvador was still conscious at the time of the stoppage, but absorbed many unanswered blows from Yanez, in the opinion of referee Chris Tognoni.

With the win, Yanez snapped a two-fight skid that included TKO losses to Rob Font and Jonathan Martinez. Salvador loses his third fight in as many UFC attempts since signing with the promotion’s Dana White’s Contender Series in August 2022.
