Conor McGregor fired a shot at the state of the UFC welterweight division.

Leon Edwards will attempt to earn his third title defense when he faces Belal Muhammad in the main event of UFC 304 on July 27 in Manchester, England. Edwards knocked out Kamaru Usman to win the title, but went the distance with Usman in the rematch, and all 25 minutes with Colby Covington as well.

Both Edwards (21-3 MMA, 13-2 UFC) and Muhammad (23-3 MMA, 14-3 UFC) are undefeated in double digits, but most of their wins have come via decisions that McGregor has criticized.

“There’s a lot of decisions going on right now with that Leon guy,” McGregor said in a live stream with Duel Bits (h/t Championship rounds in X). “Leon Edwards loves a decision. And then he’s fighting another decision guy, his man Belal, so it’s not good times in the welterweight title fight. (UFC 304 will make 200,000 pay-per-view purchases), probably… not even: 150,000 purchases.”

Former double champion McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC), who will return in a 170-pound fight against Michael Chandler (23-8 MMA, 2-3 UFC) at UFC 303, June 29, in Las Vegas ( paid-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+), has his eye on even more belts.

“Leon Edwards and Nate Diaz almost knocked him out and got him to his feet,” McGregor said. “If this fight continues, Leon is unconscious. Plus, (Donald) Cerrone went far with him.

“I’m looking at all these belts: the world lightweight title – even though I’ve already won that, how excited would I be to cut that weight again after I’ve already won it? I already held the belt. I would be excited about the ‘Bad Motherf*cker’ (BMF) title and the welterweight title.”
