And he was asked about the mutual respect shown between the two.

McGregor, 35, said Mac’s life: “I don’t think I’ll go to that level [of animosity] again. It doesn’t serve a purpose, it doesn’t serve me well.

“You remain cold in the face of the situation, you remain emotionless. It’s an expressionless face and a specific body type.

“He’s got his moves set, his patterns set in which he moves and his throws set, and I’m aware of them.

“I am preparing myself for a multitude of results. I’m confident all my shots will land.”

McGregor has had bitter feuds with the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov, 35, and Dustin Poirier, also 35.

But his sign of composure could mark a different approach ahead of the fight against 38-year-old Chandler.

Although on the same day as his promise of peace – McGregor went on the attack.

He took aim at arch-enemy Nurmagomedov’s alleged £3m tax bill to the Russian government.

McGregor fumed: “Typical rat behavior. Mouse running.

“So he has bills to pay. We fight for legacy, and he has two main events or something in the UFC and owes a lot to the Russian government.

“I’m ecstatic and happy that this is sinking in for him. We will all welcome him back to the game he ran away from.

“It’s a rat trap. The rat trap has been set. We’re excited about it and we’ll see where it goes.”

“We noticed the little mouse running behind. We see him back. Fat mouse, we call him.”

Inside McGregor’s Notorious Lifestyle

With more sides to his personality than an octagon, Conor McGregor’s rise has been fascinating.

UFC stars Kamaru Usman, Ilia Topuria and Alexander Volkanovski have also faced his wrath.

McGregor said: “Fuck Kamaru Usman! He’s a bum. I don’t give a damn about Usman.”

“Opinions on Topuria? Fuck him too. I don’t give a shit about him either.”

“Thoughts about Volkanovski? No thoughts. Fuck him too! I would have kicked him in the head and that’s a fact.”

He took a gentler approach to British UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards, 32, despite aiming for a blow.

He said, “There are a lot of decisions coming out of that Leon guy.”

McGregor also had some harsh words for YouTuber True Geordie – who he has clashed with in the past.

He boomed: “Thoughts on True Geordie? An idiot. A fat idiot. Another nothing, an idiot.”
