Since UFC matchmakers, for some reason, only scheduled one lightweight fight outside of the pay-per-view headliner, the paid portion of the card will open with the welterweight fight between Brown and Dos Santos.

In the defense of the UFC bosses, this fight has all the characteristics of a welterweight war.

While I could see Brown ending things early with another nice right hand on a double jab, the Jamaican-American has a propensity for playing with his food, which makes him hard to trust as a favorite.

Dos Santos, on the other hand, is a perpetually underrated Brazilian warhorse who will fight for his money.

An early knockout from Brown wouldn’t shock me, but I’ll choose otherwise and side with Santos to win by decision.
