MMA prospect Sammy-Jo Luxton is currently in the hospital battling sepsis.
The Manchester Top Team star was set to make his long-awaited Professional Fighters League debut in Newcastle on Saturday night.

Luxton, 25, would face the toughest test of her brief MMA career in Dutch Lizzy Gevers.
But ‘The Ghetto Cinderella’ was forced to withdraw from the card and the lucrative PFL European women’s featherweight tournament due to a deadly bout of sepsis.
Luxton revealed her hospitalization on her X and Instagram pages, sharing photos of herself unwell in her bed.
The accompanying caption read: “It should be fight week, but unfortunately the curse on me continues.
“I underwent emergency surgery in April. It has since become infected, spread to my kidneys and I now have sepsis.
“I have been in hospital since May 28, with my temperature reaching 41 degrees, which has sent me into seizure-like states.
“Not much I can say, just destroyed beyond belief.”
Dozens of the former kickboxer’s followers sent her well wishes, with one saying: “I’m sorry to hear this Sammy, I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Another said: “Unfortunately I know what this feels like. I hope you feel better soon”.
And another said: “Sorry to hear that… best wishes for a speedy recovery and hope to see you back in the cage soon!
One commented: “Jesus hellish. All the best in recovery.
Another chimed in: “Sad News in fact, wishing you a speedy and complete recovery.”
Doctors put Luxton on “industrial strength” antibiotics to combat the deadly effects of the disease.
She wrote: “It’s a little scary because you go down quickly. I was put on industrial strength antibioticsas the hospital called it.
“That force took my body three days to react.”
Luxton is looking forward to competing under the PFL banner, although she is currently only focused on improving at this point.
She said: “[It’s] too early to say [when I’ll be back]they don’t even know when I will be able to leave the hospital now.
“So I don’t know what my recovery will be like.”
