A potential UFC women’s flyweight title eliminator is set to go five rounds this summer.
At the UFC Fight Night event on July 13 in Denver, the main competitors Maycee Barber It is Rosa Namajunas will collide at Ball Arena, promotion CEO Dana White announced on Tuesday. Ariel Helwani was the first to report the news in X.
Barber (14-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) is enjoying the most successful period of his UFC career as he enters the fight on a six-fight win streak. Her two most recent victories were over challengers Amanda Ribas (by TKO) and Katlyn Cerminara (by unanimous decision).
Namajunas (12-6 MMA, 10-5 UFC) is 1-1 since moving from strawweight to flyweight in 2023. Following a unanimous decision loss to Manon Fiorot in her division debut, Namajunas defeated Amanda Ribas via decision unanimous in March.
While not officially a title eliminator, the winner of the fight could have a shot at the winner of the Alexa Grasso vs. Valentina Shevchenko fight scheduled to take place in the fall after the conclusion of “The Ultimate Fighter 32” airing.
