DUSTIN POIRIER suffered THREE horrific injuries in his ill-fated attempt to win the lightweight title, which led to a long ban.
The fan favorite failed in his third attempt to become undisputed 155-pound champion last weekend in the main event of UFC 302 in New Jersey.
Poirier, 35, won the title of dominant champion and pound-for-pound king Islam Makhachev for the fifth and final round, but was finished with a choke from D’Arce.
The fight was a bloodbath, with both men wearing red masks in the final rounds.
And days after his latest and possibly final title setback, Poirier took to social media to reveal the extent of his injuries.
He wrote on the X: “Nose is badly broken, rib is broken and my ACL is partially torn.”
Poirier followed up with an x-ray of his caught nose, which was broken in several places.
He wrote on the image: “Four or five blows to the headbutt.”
Porier’s trio of injuries resulted in the New Jersey State Board of Athletic Control handing over to him UNDETERMINED medical suspension.
Before fight night, the former interim lightweight champion admitted retirement could be on the cards if he failed in his latest bid for undisputed glory.

And he has since joked that the end is indeed near, telling ESPN: “After the [Justin] The Gaethje fight was a big test for me and my personal growth.
“Practice my mindfulness and practice gratitude.
“Because I said it yesterday or the other day with you, without gratitude nothing is enough.
“My cup is full, my family is well. healththey have theirs.
“I’m chasing dreams and living the life I could only have imagined when I was a kid, just chasing my dreams.
“I fell short and it hurts a lot.
“Because like I said, I know I won’t get another chance. I probably won’t get another chance to be undisputed world champion.”
At the post-fight press conference, he added: “I was fighting to be world champion.
“Why else am I fighting? Just for the thrill? Because I’m addicted to it, no doubt. But for money?
“My family and I are fine. I don’t need money. Money is great, but my health comes first.
“Why am I fighting? To be champion again?
“Will I ever get that chance, even if there is a sequel? I don’t know.
“It’s such a difficult mountain to climb and I’ve climbed it so many times.”
