DANA WHITE broke his silence on Conor McGregor’s withdrawal from his return to the UFC.
The Notorious was expected to make his long-awaited return to the Octagon later this month in the main event of UFC 303 in Las Vegas.
But the Irishman’s Sin City clash with Michael Chandler was officially postponed this week after it emerged he had suffered an injury in training.
White and his team of matchmakers moved quickly to replace the fight, setting up a light heavyweight title rematch between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka.
The 54-year-old said The Sports Business Journal: “It’s the business, man. That’s how it works.”
SunSport understands that McGregor’s injury is not serious and that he could return to action within two months.
August 31 is one of the dates in play for the rescheduled Return of the Mac, which hasn’t entered the Octagon in almost three years.
But White will not be interested in the matter until McGregor is cleared to resume full training.
The veteran prosecutor said, “From now on, I’m not going to talk about it until he’s healed and right.
“Then we’ll look at the landscape and see what we can discover.”

McGregor, 35, was devastated to have been forced to pull out of his first fight since breaking his left leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
But the UFC’s first simultaneous two-weight world champion is convinced he will be back in the Octagon before the end of the year.
The Dubliner wrote on Instagram: “It’s very difficult to be excluded from my scheduled comeback fight.
“I suffered an injury before the press conference that required more time to heal than was available to me.
“The decision to postpone the fight was not made lightly, but rather in consultation with my doctors, the UFC and my team.
“My fans and opponent deserve my best for this fight and we will get there!
“Thank you for the messages of support, I’m in a good mood and confident that I’ll be back!”
