CONOR McGREGOR may already be worried after sharing his surprise Euro 2024 bet on Cristiano Ronaldo.

The UFC icon may also share his tears next month unless the record holder from Portugal improves on his debut in Germany!

“Notorious” posted on social media his $60,000 (£50,745) bet backing Ronaldo to win the Golden Boot, with winnings of £761,310 at stake.

So the Irishman must have punched the air in frustration when the 39-year-old hit the post but failed to score against the Czech Republic.

Portugal, however, won 2-1 again in the group’s debut.

That means Roberto Martinez’s men look well enough to justify their status as pre-tournament favourites.

An extended run should mean more game time for Ronaldo – and more hope for McGregor, who was ringside with the former Manchester United hero at boxing in Saudi Arabia last December.

The former UFC featherweight and lightweight king shared his bet with fans and added the words: “60 G’s on @Cristiano to keep his Euro Golden Boot. Soooo!”

“Great start,” one fan posted sadly after Ronaldo’s goalless first game.

“The game recognizes the game,” said another – but other viewers teased Notorious about its wonky vibe.

EURO 2024 LIVE: STAY UP TO DATE WITH THE LATEST NEWS FROM GERMANY

McGregor’s frustration with Ron’s sleepless night pales in comparison to the 35-year-old’s annoyance over the injury that prevented his return to the Octagon.

The MMA star would face Michael Chandler in the main fight of UFC 303, in Las Vegas, on June 29th. McGregor may now have to wait until September to fight again.

How was Portugal’s performance at the Euros with Cristiano Ronaldo

CRISTIANO RONALDO has been a model of longevity for more than two decades in a distinguished international career.

Euro 2004

After making his international debut in 2003, Ronaldo’s first Euro came in 2004.

Ronaldo marked his Euro debut with a goal in the 2-1 defeat to Greece – his first for Portugal.

He scored the second in the semi-final victory over the Netherlands, but Portugal faced Greece again in the final, losing 1-0 in a surprising result.

Euro 2008

Ronaldo captained Portugal four years later, but Euro 2008 was the least impactful tournament he played in.

There was still time for a standout performance as Ronaldo scored once and set up two more in the group stage victory over the Czech Republic.

Euro 2012

At the time, playing for Real Madrid, Ronaldo was the top scorer at Euro 2012, with three goals, including two in the group stage against the Netherlands.

Portugal’s quarter-final game against the Czech Republic was heading towards a stalemate with 10 minutes remaining and they needed a special moment on their part.

His powerful header in the final minutes took Portugal to the semi-finals, where they lost on penalties to Spain.

Euro 2016

Ronaldo scored three goals at Euro 2016 as Portugal crowned CHAMPIONS after beating France 1-0 in extra time in the final.

After suffering an injury in the first 16 minutes against France, he was forced to watch from the sidelines.

Even so, the Portugal captain became a cheerleader and helped coach his teammates to the historic victory.

He equaled Michel Platini’s record of nine goals at the end of Euro 2016.

Euro 2020

Ronaldo made history again with FIVE goals at Euro 2020, the most by any player at Euros.

However, it was undoubtedly Portugal’s least exciting game as they were eliminated in the round of 16 following a 1-0 defeat to Belgium.

With his goals in this tournament, Ronaldo became the European Championship’s top scorer with 14 goals.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s love affair with euros

McGregor and Ronaldo went viral last year after their ring encounter in Riyadh.

The chat, comparing watches, captivated viewers.

Now Notorious must hope that time doesn’t run out for Ron when it comes to goalscoring feats.

The former Real Madrid and Juventus player already has a European record of 14 goals and is now in his sixth such final.

Inside McGregor’s Notorious Lifestyle

With more sides to his personality than an octagon, Conor McGregor’s rise has been fascinating.
