CONOR MCGREGOR revealed the injury that forced him to withdraw from his fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303.
The former two-weight UFC champion was scheduled to make his long-awaited return in Las Vegas on June 29.
However, it was confirmed last week that the fight was canceled due to an injury to McGregor.
Since then, fans have speculated about the identity of the mystery injury, with the Irishman now revealing he broke his toe during sparring.
Sharing a snapshot of the training session on Instagram, McGregor revealed the details of his withdrawal from the fight.
He wrote: “Man, we were so super ready for this fight that it is absolutely painful to face.
“I want that new Bugatti, how am I going to justify getting it to myself now, without paying for these fights.
“We had a lapse in concentration and started a training session without wearing all the protective equipment and I stubbed my toe on my elbow and broke my toe. It takes a few weeks, that’s it.
“I couldn’t justify to my team, nor to the fans, that I made the journey unfavorable.
“This next walk has to be, and will be, 100% Conor McGregor. The fans deserve it and we’re getting close.

“A slight lapse in concentration and the discomfort of an injury were detected. That’s it. Do the lesson and move on. I’ll get it back. I have it too.
“I have two fights left on my contract. I have Bugattis and more yachts in mind.
Inside McGregor’s Notorious Lifestyle

With more sides to his personality than an octagon, Conor McGregor’s rise has been fascinating.
“Because I still have yachts and Bentleys and mansions and everything else. You know yourself. But if you understand me, I’ll be back. See you soon. See you at the top. Chandler or not.”
McGregor also shared photos of the bruise on his toe and an X-ray of the X-ray injury.
Responding to Chael Sonnen, he told the former UFC title challenger to “shut up” after claiming the fight was canceled because McGregor was in rehab.
Notorious’ absence from the Octagon is now expected to exceed the three-year mark as the wait for his meeting with Chandler continues.
The 35-year-old has not fought since breaking his tibia in his defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
Instead, a return in August or September is anticipated, with the UFC hopeful the fight can be rescheduled for later this year.
Meanwhile, Alex Pereira will defend his light heavyweight title in a rematch against Jiri Prochazka in the main fight of UFC 303 next weekend, replacing McGregor vs. Chandler.
