Joe Rogan agree with Conor McGregorthe decision to leave UFC 303.

McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) withdrew from Saturday’s main fight against Michael Chandler (23-8 MMA, 2-3 UFC) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas due to a fractured little toe suffered during training. Players like former rival Rafael dos Anjos, UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria and lightweight champion Islam Makhachev took the opportunity to criticize McGregor for withdrawing from the fight, but Rogan feels he made the right decision.

“When you’re a guy who shoots as much as Conor, that’s a damn problem,” Rogan said in his “JRE Fighting Companion.” “It’s also the same foot where his leg broke and he went into that fight injured. He’s never walked away from a fight before. This is the first one he’s come out of, and I think it’s sensible.

“I think if you have a broken toe and you go into a fight and you went into the last fight injured, what if that fucking toe becomes a real problem? What if he kicks you and he hits you again, and he’s in agony and can’t move? You have to be able to get out of the way with Michael Chandler.”

McGregor, who made a public appearance over the weekend cornering Sinead Kavanagh at Bellator Champions Series: Dublin, admitted that he still can’t put on his shoes, but hopes to return in August or September. At the UFC on ABC 6 post-fight press conference, Dana White refused to comment on McGregor’s return until he was fully recovered.
