DANA WHITE has cast major doubt on an imminent Conor McGregor fight by ruling out several proposed dates.

The Irish should make his long-awaited return to the Octagon this weekend in the main event of UFC 303 in Las Vegas.

But his comeback clash with Michael Chandler was postponed earlier this month after he broke the little toe on his left foot in one of their final sparring sessions.

SunSport understands that Team McGregor believes the UFC poster boy will be fit and ready to compete in the next two months.

A late August return was discussed, as well as a September slugfest with fellow fan favorite Chandler.

The prospect of McGregor returning in August or September and even October was recently put to UFC chief White.

But the veteran prosecutor brutally dismissed suggestions that Mac Returns would take place in any of those months with a scathing four-word response.

The 54-year-old told Barstool Sports: “None of the above.”

Former two-division champion McGregor, 35, has gone on record as saying his desire to fight in August or September.

When asked when he wanted to return, the Dubliner said SeriousMMA: “August, September, I would love [that]. I’m in recovery mode.”

Inside McGregor’s Notorious Lifestyle

With more sides to his personality than an octagon, Conor McGregor’s rise has been fascinating.

White, however, refuses to start thinking about a new date for Mystic Mac’s return until he gets medical clearance.

He said last weekend: “I won’t do anything until I know Conor is healthy.

“It’s not even worth talking about. And September? And October?

“He’s not ready. So why talk about it?”

He added: “I’m not thinking about Conor fighting anyone right now.

“I have no deadline, I have nothing.

“McGregor isn’t even cured yet. McGregor is injured.”

McGregor hasn’t stepped into the Octagon since breaking his left leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier almost three years ago.
