Stephen Thompson do not think Ian Machado Garry can keep Michael’s page throughout the fight at UFC 303.

Page (22-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) faces Garry (14-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC) in the main card opener of Saturday’s UFC 303 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) on T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Las Vegas.

Many wanted to see Page fight Thompson next after he defeated Kevin Holland in his promotional debut at UFC 299, but MVP dismissed the matchup as a potentially boring matchup due to their similar striking styles.

Thompson agreed with Page’s analogy. He gives him the advantage over Garry in striking.

“Both guys are at the highest level, especially when it comes to striking,” Thompson said in his Youtube channel. “Now, is it smart for Ian Garry to go out there and attack with the MVP? I do not think.

“Even though Ian Garry is a great striker, I don’t think he’s at the same level as Michael ‘Venom’ Page, especially when it comes to distance management, blitzing, period of speed. I think Michael ‘Venom’ Page is very, very fast, very accurate and very versatile. But I think Ian Garry is a very intelligent fighter.”

Thompson advises Garry to utilize his grappling if he wants to be successful against Page.

“If I were him, I’d be confusing everything,” Thompson said. “Not just switching, but obviously working on my grappling, trying to lay down and hold this guy against the fence if I can, looking for my takedowns if he’s there, just to try to somehow tire this guy out.”

Ultimately, Thompson chooses Page to beat Garry. Although he thinks it will be difficult, “Wonderboy” thinks Page can knock him out.

“I’m definitely leaning towards my friend Michael ‘Venom’ Page,” Thompson said. “It will be exciting. I really think if MVP touches Ian Garry’s chin, I think he’ll be able to take him down.”
