‘Deep mental pain’
Earlier this week, Conor McGregor revealed he was feeling “deep mental pain” as he watched fight week go by without him.
The Irishman wrote: “Deep mental pain. Thank you for the messages of support and encouragement, my colleagues and fans.”
The week before, he wrote a long social media post to reveal why he had to pull out of the fight.
He wrote: “Man, we were so super ready for this fight that it is absolutely painful to face. I want that new Bugatti, like I was, to justify myself getting this now, without paying for these fights.
“We had a lapse in concentration and started a training session without wearing all the protective equipment and I stubbed my toe on my elbow and broke my toe. It takes a few weeks, that’s it.
“I couldn’t justify to my team, nor to the fans, that I made the walk detrimental. This walk was seen. This next walk has to be, and will be, 100% Conor McGregor. The fans deserve it and we are getting close.
“A slight lapse in concentration and the discomfort of an injury were detected. And that. Enjoy the lesson and move on.
“I have Bugattis and more yachts in mind. I’m coming to shine. I just need to take my time. Because I still have yachts, Bentleys, mansions and all the rest. You know yourself. But you understand me, I’ll be back. See you soon .See you at the top or not.
