HERB DEAN was criticized by Daniel Cormier for his stoppage in the main fight of UFC 303.
Alex Pereira retained his light heavyweight title with a brutal second-round knockout of Jiri Prochazka in the decisive fight on the International Fight Week card.
A violent kick separated Prochazka from consciousness and sent him crashing to the canvas.
The former 205-pound champion was clearly out, but he ate several unnecessary and academic shots before Dean dismissed the contest.
And moments before the fight was stopped, Cormier repeatedly shouted into the microphone: “Stop the fight!” He finished.”
When the veteran official finally stopped proceedings, the former two-division UFC champion sighed before adding, “Stop the fight, Herb Dean.”
MMA fans were equally unhappy with the stoppage, with one saying: “Herb Dean just let Jiri get murdered.”
Another said: “Jiri won the Herb Dean special.”
And another said: “What did Jiri do to Herb Dean, is my question?”
One commented: “Herb Dean simulates duck, duck goose as a man almost loses his life on national television.”

Another chimed in: “TERRIBLE Herb Dean stoppage. Consistently out of position.”
The win over Prochazka was Pereira’s second defense of the 205-pound crown, which he won last November.
He said of his latest win: “It was great.
“I was saying all week that I was going to come here and be victorious.
“I do not know what next step is. I’m taking advantage of these opportunities.
“Everything that comes my way is positive, so that’s what I’m doing.”
