Will be UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones stick around long enough to eventually fight Alexandre Pereira? That’s a question many MMA fans have on their minds, and his latest comments seem promising.
On Monday, Jones took to X to respond to a fan question asking if he plans to retire after his expected title defense in November against Stipe Miocic.
To which Jones responded, “Honestly, it’s hard to say right now. I’m going to base a lot of this on my next presentation. The options are looking crazy right now.”

The comments come on the heels of Saturday’s UFC 303, where Brazilian star Alex Pereira defended his light heavyweight title against Jiri Prochazka with a second-round TKO. After the fight, “Poatan” expressed interest in moving up to heavyweight and caused many fans to ask for a possible confrontation with Jones.
Jones, who is the greatest champion in UFC light heavyweight history, is currently recovering and recovering from shoulder surgery and is expected to return in November against Miocic. There is also talk of an eventual title unification fight with Tom Aspinall, who defends his interim UFC heavyweight title against Curtis Blaydes later this month at UFC 304.
