For the first time since the infamous cage swap almost a year ago, Dricus Du Plessis It is Israel Adesanya came face to face on Tuesday UFC 305 Australian sales press conference.

Du Plessis (21-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) will attempt to make his first middleweight title defense in the Aug. 17 main attraction when he faces former champion and rival Adesanya (24-3 MMA, 13-3 UFC ) at the RAC Arena in Perth (ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+).

The heated back-and-forth that ensued following Du Plessis’s TKO of Robert Whittaker at UFC 290 in July 2019 was a precursor to some words at the press conference, as comments about race and lineage continue to set a tone for the fight for the 185-pound title.

The intensity between the two teams was carried into the confrontation after the press conference, which you can see in the video above.
