CONOR MCGREGOR has broken his silence following the announcement of his long-awaited comeback fight.

Mac’s return was made official by Dana White at the UFC 300 post-fight press conference last weekend.

McGregor will make his big return on June 29, in the main fight of UFC 303, in Las Vegas, against Michael Chandler.

And just hours after the fight was officially announced, The Notorious took to social media to break the silence.

Alongside a clip of his fight with Chandler on season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter, he wrote on Instagram: “Start the jet, it’s almost yacht season.”

Fan favorite McGregor, 35, hasn’t set foot in the Octagon since breaking his leg almost three years ago.

The Irish broke his left tibia and fibula in the final moments of the first round of his Sin City showdown with Dustin Poirier.

McGregor’s return clash with Chandler was expected to take place late last year, but it ended up not materializing.

UFC President and CEO White said of the delay: “It’s all about timing.

“Chandler’s is ready. We talked about this at one of the press conferences recently.

“He had a lot of obligations he had to deal with.

“What you don’t want him to do is accept the fight when he has a lot of obligations and can’t train 100% for the fight.”

McGregor promised to pull off the “greatest comeback ever” in his Sin City showdown with Chandler.

And White believes it will be a huge achievement for the Irishman if he puts his hand up following his injury-forced layoff.

The 54-year-old said: “I think when you look at that injury, it happened in the UFC [before].

“We just saw Chris Weidman come back, Anderson [Silva] it returned; Have you seen this in soccer.

Inside McGregor’s Notorious Lifestyle

With more sides to his personality than an octagon, Conor McGregor’s rise has been fascinating.

“It’s probably one of the nastiest injuries you could get.

“You see guys with broken arms all the time and things like that happen.

“It’s difficult for us humans to understand this bone breaking.

“It’s a serious injury and a difficult recovery. And it’s also a difficult recovery.

“Who is the [American] Football guy who did this too? Whatever his name is.

“Anyway, if you saw the article they did about him trying to recover from that injury, it’s very unpleasant.”
