MAYRA BUENO SILVA has revealed her war injuries after sharing photos of her stitched-up head after UFC 303.
The 32-year-old Brazilian suffered a slasher-film-like gash to her head courtesy of a vicious elbow from Macy Chiasson on Saturday.
Silva, who unsuccessfully challenged for the women’s bantamweight title in January, was looking to bounce back from her January loss to current champion Raquel Pennington.
But she ended up suffering her second consecutive loss at UFC 303 thanks to a perfect elbow from Chiasson in the second round.
And that left her with an open wound above her right eye.
The 32-year-old American delivered the sickening blow while in her opponent’s full guard.
Blood instantly began gushing from Silva’s head – but the severity of the cut didn’t become evident until she stood up.
The referee immediately called the ringside doctor to inspect the laceration.
And, after hearing the doctor say that the wound was “down to the bone”, the dispute was dropped.
Fans initially booed this decision, but those attitudes soon changed when the true damage was revealed on the big screen.

Silva did not agree with the referees’ call which left Chiasson with a victory in the second round.
However, after sharing an image of the wound’s post-stitches on her social media, she would certainly have changed that stance by now.
She’s pouting in the photo, but the big scar stands out a mile.
Silva has a lot of stitches above her left eye and it still looks like she has a lot of healing to do.
And it will undoubtedly leave an unpleasant mark.
