BRITISH MMA star Simeon Powell will mark his return to the Bellator London cage on September 14th.
The Londoner has drawn comparisons to UFC great Jon Jones for his similar 6-foot-2 light heavyweight frame.
Powell, 25, reached the PFL Europa final last year, only to be defeated in the $100,000 winner-take-all final by Jakob Nedoh.
He was then due to return to Dublin in June, until opponent Abdellah Er-Ramy withdrew at the last minute.
Despite his heartbreak, Powell manages a quick turnaround as SunSport can reveal he will return to the capital against 13-7 veteran Rafael Xavier.
He said: “I will be performing in my hometown for my Bellator debut as the OVO Wembley Arena is just a stone’s throw from where I was born and raised.
“No matter who they wanted to put in front of me, I will put on a show for everyone present on September 14th, my fans will not be disappointed.”
In the undercard, his teammate Luke Trainer will also be in action against Laurynas Urbonavicius.
The light heavyweight trainer last year proposed to his girlfriend in the Octagon and is looking to improve on his 8-1 record.
The main fight of the night will see Fabian Edwards – younger brother of UFC champion Leon – rematch against Johnny Eblen.

Eblen, defending the Bellator middleweight title again, beat Edwards by stoppage last September.
But just 12 months later the rivals will be at it again, with Edwards looking to make history as the first brothers to hold two MMA world titles.
