Abdul Razak Alhassan still furious after not contesting Cody Brundage at the UFC on ESPN 59and he wants to run him back.

After Alhassan (12-6 MMA, 6-6 UFC) demolished Brundage (10-6 MMA, 4-5 UFC) early in the first round of Saturday’s middleweight bout at Ball Arena in Denver, he followed up with a attack of blows, two of which were considered illegal and to the back of the head by referee Dan Miragliotta.

Brundage was unable to continue after the five-minute recovery period, and the fight was ruled a no contest. This greatly dismayed Alhassan, who insists there was no more than one illegal shot in the sequence, and says Brundage turned his head towards him as he fished for a desperate takedown.

“I’m still upset about it,” Alhassan told John Morgan about Grind city media. “Obviously in that kind of situation where he’s turning and I’m trying to get it right – and even when I watched the video, it was just one time. And even that was questionable when it hit him. I feel like that guy, sorry for my cursing, he got upset. He decided: ‘I don’t want to fight anymore. I do not want to do that.'”

Alhassan, 38, says he saw one of Brundage’s coaches from Elevation Fight Team urge him to opt out of continuing during the recovery window, but did not identify who. Ultimately, he thinks Brundage was trying to win by disqualification, citing what happened in his September fight with Jacob Malkoun at UFC Fight Night 228.

According to Alhassan, he is considering filing an appeal with the Colorado commission to have the no contest overturned, but has not made any final decision.

More than anything, Alhassan just wants to fight and will face any opponent in any encounter. He explained before the fight that he Too much anger to get out of your system after personal problems, and if he gets the rematch with Brundage, he will not lack motivation.

“I really want to contest this (with the commission), but even if I don’t contest it, I want it back immediately,” Alhassan said. “Let’s go back and put a hole in his face.”
