LAS VEGAS – Hyder Amil defeated Jeong Yeong Lee on Saturday night in a barnburner at UFC on ESPN 60.
Amil vs. Lee only lasted 65 seconds, but it was action-packed as Amil finished Lee via technical knockout thanks to a barrage of punches exchanged between the two men. Afterwards, Amil explained how Lee’s first punch woke him up and how relieved he was to come out on top.
“Man, you wake up the beast inside. I’m a smiling son of a bitch, but when you wake that up in me, I’ll bring heat to you,” said Amil. “I just saw the opening honestly. I saw that he was stunned. I was like, ‘Shit, let’s capitalize on this.”
He continued: “I want to climb the rankings quickly. … I wanted to represent my country (Philippines) and the Bay Area, so it was very important to get this victory in an emphatic way.
