That UFC 304 triumph seemed to have guaranteed him a shot at flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja.

Mokaev’s UFC contract expired after the event and any hope of an extension appears to have been completely extinguished by UFC President White.

He was asked about him after last night’s event and first responded, “Yeah, the matchmakers aren’t big fans of him for a lot of different reasons.

“And not just because [of his fighting style] There are a lot of people who make mistakes in this business.

“There are a lot of guys who fight with that type of style, but it’s much more than that.”

He was then asked directly whether Mokaev would get the contract he seemed to want.

White then confirmed that he no longer works for them and finished with a brutal 11-word statement.

“He’s no longer under contract,” he said.

“I think the PFL will get a great, undefeated guy. Good luck to him.

Many were disappointed with Mokaev’s latest victory.

Although he suggested that he just needs to do whatever it takes to win.

He said: “They said they will see my performance. They don’t want to see me keep shooting and knocking someone down.

“But I did what I could, like, tonight. They don’t like that.

“They’ve tried to get rid of the flyweights before and they don’t want that kind of fight.

“But, listen, I’m young, I’m not in my prime yet and if they want me to stand and bang, face to face with these 30-year-old grown men, I have to do what’s best for me to win. “
