MIAMI – Jorge Masvidal felt the support of his people in full force as they insulted and harassed rival Nate Diaz on their last tour, they stop promoting their next boxing fight.

On Wednesday night, Masvidal and Diaz spoke to the media and fans at a press conference at “The Baddest Tour” stop in Miami. Chanting “305” and constantly yelling and booing Diaz, the crowd informed Diaz that he was in enemy territory.

Masvidal was happy and proud to see his people supporting him and believes it affected Diaz.

“It’s Dade County. I don’t give a fuck who you are, you’re definitely going to feel the heat here,” Masvidal told MMA Junkie. “From the moment you get on that damn plane and get to the airport, you’re going to feel that heat, and he definitely felt that.

“He sees now why I am so violent and why I give everything I have for my audience. We’re just raised a little differently here. You can tell, from the football athletes we produce to the boxers, that everything we do here is violence.”

Masvidal and Diaz are scheduled to have a boxing match on June 1 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. This is a rematch of sorts, as the two previously fought in the UFC in 2019. The fight ended in a medical stoppage TKO victory for Masvidal, who was crowned the inaugural BMF champion that night at Madison Square Garden.

“Gamebred” thinks this stop on the press tour was much needed, as he was fueled by the Miami crowd.

“Seeing my guys like that, trying so hard for me, it always helps, it always motivates,” said Masvidal. “I look at their faces and all those motherfuckers are me when I was a kid or when I got older – whatever stage they are at. I see myself in them, so it definitely gives you that extra something.”

Masvidal does not want the fight to reach a decision or much less to be stopped on medical advice. He wants to eliminate Diaz and make his victory definitive.

“Take him down,” Masvidal said when asked for a fight prediction. “I don’t want any questions or anything. I don’t want any man intervening in what I have to do. I have to kill the man, and that’s why I have these bad boys here.”
