The 35-year-old Irish star will fight for the first time in almost three years when he faces Michael Chandler on June 29 in Las Vegas at UFC 303.

It was revealed in February that McGregor was the UFC’s most tested fighter of 2024 so far, after the organization severed ties with the United States Anti-Doping Agency last year following a public row over The Notorious’ proposed return.

The UFC’s partnership with Drug Free Sport began on January 1st and they test McGregor regularly.

And the former two-weight world champion shared the latest of those tests in a series of photos on Instagram.

McGregor posted a series of photos of him hitting the pads and stretching in the Octagon.

But one of them showed a drug test kit, while another saw him cutting his hair.

And he added the short caption: “Ten 18oz rounds. Drug tested. Haircut.”

McGregor has not entered the Octagon since breaking his leg in July 2021, during his second consecutive defeat to Dustin Poirier.

The Irishman broke his left tibia and fibula in the final moments of the first round of his clash in Sin City with Poirier.

McGregor’s return clash with Chandler was expected to take place late last year, but it ended up not materializing.

UFC President and CEO Dana White, who announced the fight at a press conference last weekend, said of the delay: “It’s all about timing.

Inside McGregor’s Notorious Lifestyle

With more sides to his personality than an octagon, Conor McGregor’s rise has been fascinating.

“Chandler’s is ready. We talked about this at one of the press conferences recently.

“He had a lot of obligations he had to deal with.

“What you don’t want him to do is accept the fight when he has a lot of obligations and can’t train 100% for the fight.”

McGregor promised to pull off the “greatest comeback ever” in his showdown with Chandler.

And White believes it will be a huge achievement for the Irishman if he puts his hand up following his injury-forced layoff.

The 54-year-old said: “I think when you look at that injury, it happened in the UFC [before].

“We just saw Chris Weidman come back, Anderson [Silva] it returned; you’ve seen it in football.

“It’s probably one of the nastiest injuries you could get.

“You see guys with broken arms all the time and things like that happen.

“It’s hard for us humans to wrap our brains around this bone breaking.”

It remains to be seen whether he will be able to return to the top of the sport.
