An exciting bantamweight showdown is on the UFC calendar in October.
[autotag]Source Rob[/autotag] It is [autotag]Kyler Phillips[/autotag] will face each other in a three-round fight at the UFC Fight Night event, on October 19th. The card is scheduled to take place at the UFC Apex, in Las Vegas.
Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie about the booking, but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has not yet been made official.
Font (20-8 MMA, 10-7 UFC) is looking to snap a two-fight skid. He has lost four of the last five, but has only been defeated by the main competitors of José Aldo, Marlon Vera, Cory Sandhagen and, most recently, Deiveson Figueiredo. His only victory in the final stretch was a first round knockout over Adrian Yanez.
Phillips (12-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) is having arguably his biggest fight to date after an impressive showing against Pedro Munhoz, who he won via unanimous decision in March. Phillips comes from three consecutive victories in the clash.
