Jai Herbert admits he was better than 50 percent at UFC Abu Dhabi, but still focused on improving

ABU DHABI – Jai Herbert defeated Rolando Bedoya by unanimous decision on Saturday, on the preliminary card of UFC on ABC 7, at the Etihad Arena, in Abu Dhabi.

“I was making him miss a lot. He likes to stay in the pocket and exchange with you. But I was using my feet, in and out, and I took advantage – when his head was on the center line, I was pinging him with the jab. I’m really happy with my footwork.”

Herbert on returning to work

“I’m excited. I’ve been out of the cage for about 13 months, so I’m really happy to get back out there and get the win. I said (I was) 50 percent (in the cage). I was better than 50 percent, but there’s always There’s a lot more I can improve.”

Herbert on what he wants next

“There’s another card in October in Abu Dhabi. It’s probably already booked now, but it would be nice – or later in the year, November-December.”
