During Team USA’s big win in the quarterfinals over Brazil on Thursday, Kevin Durant became the United States’ all-time leading scorer at the Olympics. Durant had 11 points off the bench in a 122-87 win for the Stars and Stripes.
After the game, Stephen Curry congratulated his former Warriors teammate and current national team teammate.
On your InstagramCurry reposted an image from USA Basketball with the caption: “Congratulations slim!!!”
Of course, there is no bad blood between the duo who led Golden State to back-to-back NBA championships in 2017 and 2018, even though Durant left the Warriors a year later.
In his fourth Olympics, the “Slim Reaper” was the second highest scorer for the United States in Paris. Curry, however, was not a significant scorer during its debut Games this summer.
Still, Team USA has progressed so far in the competition, winning each of its four contests by at least 17 points. Their next game is a rematch against Serbia in the semi-finals, following a 110-84 victory for the current gold medalists in the group stage.
