Steven Adams is quietly one of the funniest guys in the NBA.
You wouldn’t know by looking at the New Zealand native that he looks like a Dothraki extra from Game of Thrones, but he is. Showed in Morning Shift Podcastwhere Adams told the story of how, as a rookie, he became a legendary trash talker Kevin Garnet backtrack saying he doesn’t speak English (one of New Zealand’s official national languages, along with Maori, and is Adams’ native language).
Steven Adams told Kevin Garnett “no English” in his first fight with him as a rookie to avoid his trash talk

“My confidence wasn’t high, so I wasn’t trying to get knocked down. Kendrick Perkins and KG played together, so they started talking. [Garnett] it was like, ‘Hey, check this shit out’ and I was like, ‘No English, bro. Sorry. No English.
“So he just didn’t say anything. I was like, ‘Thank God.’ That would have ruined me, bro, I would have cried.
Garnett saw the story and now he’s going to hunt Adams in an old man’s game.
Adams missed all of last season due to knee surgery. Midseason, the Grizzlies traded Adams to the Rockets, who have him under contract for this season for $12.6 million. If he were healthy enough to play this season, Adams would support Alperen Sengun at five, sharing minutes with Jock Landale and Jabari Smith Jr.
