It was an ugly incident when Milwaukee’s Patrick Beverley threw a ball at a Pacers fan. Now, the Indianapolis Police Department is getting involved and investigating to see if foul play is involved, Shams Charania and Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic report.

The NBA is already investigating the incident in Game 6 of the Bucks vs. Pacers in Indianapolis, with Beverley facing a possible fine or suspension.
The incident occurred late in the fourth quarter of the game that eliminated the Bucks. Beverley throws a ball into the stands, missing its intended target but hitting a woman in the head. Another Pacers fan – who was reportedly interacting with Beverley and the Bucks bench – got up and threw the ball back to him and said something, so Beverley shot that fan.
When the backlash came to her actions, Beverley first tweeted that it was “not fair at all” but later admitted she needed to do better.
But I have to be better. And I will

Beverley will face some form of punishment from the league, who understandably disapprove of players who throw things at fans. It is not yet known whether he will face punishment from authorities.
