Report: Brown and Kings ‘presented’ contract extension talks originally appeared in NBC Sports Bay Area
Mike Brown and the Kings have “introduced” contract extension talks, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Friday, citing sources.

According to Wojnarowski, there is an “abyss” between Brown and the Kings regarding the veteran coach’s remuneration.
Brown, who just completed his second season with the Kings, has one more guaranteed year remaining on his current contract and has reportedly been seeking a lucrative contract extension.
Yahoo Sports senior NBA writer Jake Fischer reported on May 16 that Brown is seeking an eight-figure annual salary.
In two seasons with the Kings, Brown led the team to a 94-70 record, including the franchise’s first appearance in the NBA playoffs since 2006.
But the team regressed last season, finishing 9th in the Western Conference before losing to the New Orleans Pelicans in the 8th seed play-in game.
The Kings have a lot things to discover this offseason if they want to reestablish themselves as a Western Conference playoff contender, and the biggest issue may be Brown’s status.
