Draymond predicts how the Celtics-Mavericks Finals series will play out originally appeared in NBC Sports Bay Area
The first game of a thrilling NBA Finals matchup between the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks begins Wednesday at TD Garden.
The experts, including Warriors forward Draymond Green, made their picks.
In the last episode of “The Draymond Green show” podcast, Green made his game-by-game predictions on his way to crowning the NBA champion.
“My personal prediction is I really think Boston will win Game 1 because I think it’s going to take some time for Dallas to get used to that size and length, the switch, what you’re going to do, what your adjustment is. be,” Green explained. “Kyrie [Irving] and Luke [Dončić] figure out how they’re going to attack this. This will take some time.
“However, I think Dallas figures it out, comes back and wins Game 2 in Boston. Going back to Dallas 1-1, I have [the Mavericks] going to that place where they’re playing really well and winning Game 3. I’ve got them in Game 4. With Dallas [having] a 3-1 lead, I have Boston winning Game 5 and Dallas closing in Game 6.”
Although the vaunted Celtics are and have been favorites to win the series, Green believes the Mavericks’ fairytale run ends with a championship, which is consistent with his past affinity with Dallas to win the championship.
“I think it’s Luka’s time, I think Kyrie wins one more,” Green said. “I think that experience is going to matter…I just think Dallas is going to get the job done. They’re on a magical run, they’ve got all the pieces…Dallas at six is what I’ve got.”
However, Green messed up several times during the playoffs. He predicted the Sacrament Kings would beat the New Orleans Pelicans “quite easily” in the NBA Play-In tournament. The Pelicans won handily. He also predicted the Western Conference semifinal series between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets it was “over” for Minnesota after Denver took a series lead three games to two. The Timberwolves won the series.
So, congratulations to the Celtics on their Finals victory?
