In this episode of No cap roomYahoo Sports Senior NBA Reporter Jake Fischer and Yahoo Sports Senior NBA Writer Dan Devine are in Dallas following the Boston Celtics’ Game 3 victory in the NBA Finals, which gave them a 3-3 lead. 0 in the series.
The guys start the show by talking about how they were dressed for the event, which led to some mockery from other members of the media when Jake and Vincent Goodwill wore the same color suit.
Eventually we got to the basketball game. Everything seems easy for the Boston Celtics, who appear to be headed for a sweep. Meanwhile, everything seems very difficult for Luka Doncic and the rest of the Dallas Mavericks.
The guys talk a little about Luka’s foul in Game 3, his tendency to complain to the referees, his fitness and his disgusting defense. Will being embarrassed on this stage lead Luka to change his actions on and off the court?
After the commercial break, the guys catch up on NBA coaching news and rumors, starting with the Pistons and Monty Williams. It would be expensive to part ways with Monty, but it’s apparently an option in front of new Pistons president of basketball operations Trajan Langdon.
Jake then talks about James Borrego, who appears to be the favorite to land the Cleveland Cavaliers head coaching job and should be able to get more out of his offense than JB Bickerstaff.
The guys then discuss the Lakers, who are still interviewing prospects after backing out of drafting Dan Hurley over the weekend. Is JJ Redick still the favorite to win the job? What are the other options? And who do the Lakers want to be after LeBron James retires?
