Ayo Dosunmu brings his Illinois number to the Bulls in exchange of digits originally appeared in NBC Sports Chicago
Ayo Dosunmu is changing his jersey number with the Bulls.
He is bringing his old number 11 from his Illinois days to the Bulls, leaving behind number 12. Dosunmu confirmed the jersey speculation on social media last Thursday with the caption “Long live the jet.”
Ayo Dosunmu confirms on Instagram that he is moving to 11th place this season. It’s the same number he used in Illinois.

The jersey was last held by DeMar DeRozan, who the Bulls sent to the Kings in sign-and-trade fashion. Ironically, DeRozan dutifully attended Dosunmu’s jersey retirement ceremony at Illinois when the Illini retired Dosunmu’s number 11.
Now, he will wear the same number he wore in college and that of his mentor in the NBA.
