Steph marvels at LeBron’s game-winning shot as Team USA wins originally appeared in NBC Sports Bay Area

After years of facing adversaries, Steph Curry and LeBron James are enjoying every minute as U.S. teammates.

The Americans faced a double-digit halftime deficit 101-100 victory over South Sudan on Saturday, with Curry and James fueling the U.S. team’s comeback, which was capped when the latter made a go-ahead layup in the final seconds of the fourth quarter.

Following James’ bucket, the four-time MVP was in a state of bliss, expressing his appreciation for achieving a narrow victory in a close game, with Curry echoing his praise for the winning heroics.

“I like them better than explosions, at least we are tested,” James said in the tunnel after Saturday’s win. “I like taking the test, honey.”

Curry happily chimed in, referencing James’ “Closer” celebration, as the pair of NBA stars happily returned to Team USA’s locker room.

“Put the clasp on,” Curry said.

As arguably the two greatest players of their generation, it’s no surprise to see Curry and James enjoy each moment to have the opportunity to play on the same team.

However, after all their memorable battles on the court, it’s still a bit of an adjustment to see the legendary shooting duo engage in the friendly camaraderie that’s usually reserved for teammates — which is a blessing for the entire team. basketball world. Curry and James will be at a minimum during Team USA’s run at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
