Draymond Verde knows a thing or two about podcasting, and haters of his podcast “The Draymond Green Show” have motivated the Warriors star to play better during the 2021-2022 season.

Speaking with Gavin Newsom and Marshawn Lynch and Doug Hendrickson at Podcast “Politics”, Green explained how much hate he received from the media when he started podcasting consistently.

“Everyone was like, ‘You can’t do podcasting. How dare you do a podcast when you’re playing, you’re supposed to be in the gym,'” Green recalled. “And I just look at it like, ‘Well, I’ve been in the gym, so what am I supposed to do with these other 21 hours a day? I’m not at the gym, so is it okay if I podcast for a bit?”

“And so that was the kind of conversation and before you know it, the television sports media said ‘Oh, he’s doing podcasting, he’s focusing on that.’ And then the podcast became a focal point of conversation and it was motivating for me, like, ‘You know what, I played really well because they’re going to use this thing. [against me],’ and we ended up winning the championship that year.”

After two years of mediocrity, Golden State recovered to triumph over the Boston Celtics and win the 2022 NBA Finals, scoring Green Klay Thompson, Steph Curry It is André Iguodala his fourth Larry O’Brien Trophy.

Although Golden State has struggled to maintain its championship level since then, Green’s podcast has become one of the most entertaining and popular shows hosted by an NBA player, inspiring many other players across the league to pick up the mic.
