Steph, KD recalling Warriors memories on Team USA originally appeared in NBC Sports Bay Area
To say that Steph Curry and Kevin Durant enjoy playing together again would be an understatement.
The NBA’s perennial stars joined forces once again on Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics and picked up where they left off with the Warriors.
Durant led the way with 23 points Team USA win 110-84 over Serbia on Sunday, while Curry had 11, including one of his no-look signature 3-pointers at the end of the game.
On a exclusive interview with Andscape’s Marc J. Spears on Sunday, Durant reflected on playing with Curry again and admitted that the two stars reminisced about the fond memories they share from their time as Golden State teammates.
“We definitely, definitely, definitely talked about some good times we had together,” Durant told Spears. “[Curry is] simply an incredible human being. [I’m] spend time with him on a deeper level. I’m looking forward to getting to know these guys on a deeper level.”
The feeling is mutual after Curry told the San Francisco Chronicle Ron Kroichick on the Sunday he liked “rekindling old flames” with Durant.
Curry and Durant won back-to-back championships together with the Warriors in 2017 and 2018 before Durant left Golden State to join the Brooklyn Nets following a 2019 NBA Finals loss to the Toronto Raptors.
Durant was then traded from Brooklyn to the Phoenix Suns midway through the 2022-23 season and is once again one of Curry’s rivals in the Western Conference.
But in the coming weeks, the two will be teammates and closest friends.
