49ers UDFA Tracker: Trades Reported After 2024 NFL Draft originally appeared in NBC Sports Bay Area
O The 2024 NFL Draft has arrived and it’s gone, and now teams around the league have the opportunity to sign players who weren’t drafted.
The 49ers got to work immediately, reportedly reaching agreements with several undrafted free agents following the conclusion of the seventh round of the draft on Saturday afternoon.
“There are still good players out there,” 49ers general manager John Lynch told reporters Friday. “It’s our job to find them. I think there probably isn’t the amount that there normally is in a draft, it probably runs out of gas. But our challenge is to find out who these guys are and find the guys that have an opportunity to help make our team better.
“We will always work until the end and so free agency is always critical. It’s fun, Kyle and I were there today, but the whole group, the coaches, the scouts come in and they’re already having the free agent meeting. trying to anticipate who, and it’s always a delicate thing to call these kids who are really confident that they’re being called up, but just start to put their ear to the ground saying, ‘Hey, if you’re still there, we’d love for you to come. to join us.’ And our guys do a great job of that. We’re looking forward to having a really productive day tomorrow and that means we’re going to have fun all the way to free agency.
Here is a list of the UDFA signings reported by the 49ers so far:
Tanner Mordecai, QB, Wisconsin
Terique Owens, WR, Missouri State
