It’s no surprise that Caleb Williams is the favorite for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2024. The odds behind him are very intriguing, however.
to win the best offensive rookie award. Williams’ odds make perfect sense. He is joining a Bears team that has improved as the season has gone on in 2023 and added R.B. D’André Swift and W.R. Keenan Allen to the list along with the writing of former Washington WR Roma Odunze with pick No. 9. Williams appears as poised for success as any rookie quarterback in the 2024 draft class.
However, a quarterback is not second on the board. The second favorite is new Arizona Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. at +600. The former Ohio State wide receiver was the fourth overall pick in the draft and the first non-QB taken. Harrison could immediately step in as Kyler Murray‘s No. 1 target and have a chance to put together a big rookie season.
Choice #2 Jayden Daniels is the third favorite at +750. Daniels should start immediately in Washington and has a chance to be the fastest QB in the league. Daniels won the Heisman Trophy in 2023 by throwing for over 3,800 yards and rushing for over 1,100. Daniels led all of college football with 8.4 yards per carry.
Drake Maye was number 3 for New England Patriots, but he’s nowhere near Daniels or Williams. The fourth favorite is the former Michigan QB JJ McCarthy. He could start again Sam Darnold in Minnesota as Kirk Cousins signed with Atlanta in the off-season. McCarthy is at +850.
Maye is at +2000 along with new Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix. They are behind New York Giants W.R. Malik Nabers (+1100), Kansas City Chiefs W.R. Xavier Worthy (+1600) and Odunze (+1800).
Michael Penix Jr., in turn, is at +5000 and has the same odds as the Chargers RB Blake Corum It is Carolina Panteras W.R. Xavier Legete. Penix was drafted 8th overall by the Falcons despite Atlanta signing Cousins to a contract worth a guaranteed $100 million in the offseason.
